Hey guys! I'm sorry for not updating here in AGES.
Literally, it's been ages.

I usually do a pre-con update but this time around, I forgot...and I was really busy with work stuff orz;;
For the first time, I attended Katsucon and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! I've been dying to go for years now, but never had the time to do so because it always fell during finals week while I was in college. But now that I've moved down here to Virginia, things became a lot easier!

This was the first con where I didn't have an extreme pre-con stress, nor did I have to deal with a ton of con dramu. I mean, there's always drama at a con, but this one had the least and I was able to reunite with some of the best people I know! Derpy things went down with a side of epic and I'm sad that it's over, but great times were had! It was the first time where I truly felt part of a cosplay THING rather than just that random friend who's dressing up etc.

I've rediscovered my love for cosplay and what it means to be a cosplayer. I can't wait to see what the future brings me in this amazing hobby and community.

SO! Because I'm post-con status, that means I finally have things to update my dA with! I have Tiger & Bunny, Ao no Exorcist and Katekyo Hitman Reborn! photos on the way and I'm SUPER excited to share them with you guys! It's rare for me to do more than one shoot at a con :'D BUT, this con was go big or go home for me since I ended up doing 5 cosplays or so...since you know, I usually do only two~ I'm going to be posting previews tonight, and post the rest as soon as the photographers are done editing C:

---

Okay. So about LIFE related things.
I've snagged a full-time job in Washington D.C. and moved into an apartment located in Virginia! I'm finally making my way into the graphic design world and have already been involved in some extremely eye-opening projects and events. Now that I'm a full-time employee, I have less free time or have zero energy to work on anything cosplay related, BUT I'm not letting it stop me! I hope to post some of my newer design related things on here as soon as they're allowed to be revealed to the public eye~

I hope you guys enjoy my updates...while they last haha!
  • Listening to: Gerudo Valley | Koji Kondo
  • Reading: Ao no Exorcist & Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
  • Watching: Adventure Time, Persona 4 and Chihayafuru
  • Drinking: Hot Chocolate

Ah, so you're a designer too! I graduated in graphic design, but I work more as a web programmer atm, which I like as well. Crap, I can't believe I graduated nearly two years ago

I only briefly looked at your design stuff, but it's lovely! :heart:

Oh my god yes! Fellow designer, high-five! I'm envious of your programming skills. I'm horribly inept when it comes to that side of design process :'D Do you have a website with your design stuff too? I always enjoy looking at other people's work :3 Heh, this was actually supposed to be my GD dA account but it magically turned into my cosplay one...again OTL;;

I'm so glad you like my design stuff! That's really awesome x3

High-five! As for programming, I've like code since I was in like, elementary school :XD: So I guess it's not surprising that I ended up doing it more than design work. My degree is concentrated in Interactive Design, so I didn't do much print design. I've learned most of my code skills on the job though :V I work at small design firm in Philly called Dyad Communications!

BUT! I also do illustration! I haven't had time to much since out of school, but one day I'd like to get into it more! I have things uploaded over here: ~firewolfdesign. My website is horribly out of date, and I'm working on redesign it ;___; It's embarrassing atm

Waaah WORDS. I'll shut up now. (But yeah, I decided to have a separate account for design stuff too, hahah. They have remained completely separate, for now X'D)

Omg that's awesome! My school district was against anything remotely creative while I was growing up, so I had to take a lot of outside classes and stuff. We DEFINITELY didn't have design classes or even programming classes. I actually taught myself Photoshop when I became this graphics person for KHInsider way back in the day xD

GTFO. I was looking at Dyad Communications when I was job hunting!! Philly was one of the places I was looking to move to ^^ That's hilarious. DYING RIGHT NOW.

PFFT, I don't even have my own website. I've made it so my domain directs you to my Behance instead xD I can't keep code knowledge in my brain to save my life so i've just opted for third party options instead.

WOO! I'm so glad to be bonding over cosplay AND designy things, this never happens! ;~;

Hahah, yeah, it was strange. In 6th grade I had a computer class that taught us basic HTML...! Though in my art classes, we never used computers. Gosh, I remember the days of Photoshop 7, lol. I think sometimes, self-taught is the best way! :XD:

HOLY CRAP. I'M DEAD. Really!? Ahh god, we're such a tiny firm, I'm totally surprised when anyone's heard of us :O But yeah, I interned there after graduating, and been a fulltime employee for over a year. Gosh, I still can't believe that, hehh.

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Having a site/profile at a portfolio community is good from networking! I should probably join more sites like that...

I know, right? The best kind of bonding! *_*

SERIOUSLY! When I was looking for a job, a smaller firm was a top requirement. I didn't want to be someplace where I'd be stuck in a cubicle doing "production work." I wanted a place where I knew I'd be able to contribute to client projects...not just be "another graphic designer" within a larger company. ;alsjdf;lak omg that would have been so awesome if I had ended up at Dyad Communication xD

Yess, I definitely think of these portfolio sites as networking opportunities as well :) If you're looking to start some, I highly recommend Behance (there are so many freakin' talented people on there) and Cargo Collective. Behance isn't really customizable at all, but Cargo is and would probably be something you'd enough whipping up since you actually know what you're doing when it comes to coding~

The best kind of bonding indeed. I'm so glad to be talking to a fellow cosplayer who's also in graphic design. It's such a rarity! *^*
